Tufted Titmouse

Titmouse translated from Scandinavian and Old English means “small bird.”  It is non-migratory and famous for its quickly repeated “peter-peter-peter” call.  The male is a true gentleman, feeding the female during courtship and nesting.  It is notorious for pulling hair from sleeping cats, dogs, and squirrels to line its nest.
